Alien or Cute??

Here are two recent pictures of my munchkins. I put Laney's hair in two ponies the other day for the first time. Right after I finished Tyler looked at her and said, "She looks like an alien!"

What do you think, alien or cute?

Recent Scrapbooking Pages

Here are some of my latest pages: This was Laney's first Christmas Dress.

Look at that adorable face and darling smile.

Discovering her world. It's hard to see but there is a velvet discover sticker in the bottom right corner along with some velvet flowers.

A final farwell to my Grandmother last August.

Journaling: As I look at these pictures I wonder...wonder what you two will remember about Grandmother Tillie. Will it be this day, when you put the last vestige of "goodbye" to rest with each shovel of dirt that covered the urn. Will you remember my love for my Grandmother? Will you remember the visits and the times that you met her?

Will you remember the etiquette that was such an integral part of her? Will you remember her piano? Will you remember that she sent you birthday cards? Will you remember that she loved the Lord too? Will you remember that she worked in a man's world when women were teachers and nurses? Will you remember that I went on a special trip with her to Canada?

Will you remember how generous she was? Will you remember her legacy of love for family history? Will you remember that she loved you? Will you remember the reason for our travels this summer was this, to say a final farwell to my Grandmother? I wonder, wonder what you will remember.

Comments

That was then...When I first became addicted to blogging, I was well addicted. Wanting to delay the inevitable cleaning of my house, checking the blogs gave me the perfect excuse to wait. I always wanted to know if any one had a new post on their blog, and...more importantly, I wanted to know if there were any comments on mine. Because after all, everything I posted was so thought provoking that I am sure it created in people the strongest desire to want to write a comment. JK

This is now...because I am surrounded by people who are much more clever and witty than I could ever be, comments have a new meaning. Now I love the running dialog that has happened with the comment section of a friend's blog and my husband's blog. In some cases, they are even more funny than the original post itself. Just check it out for yourself.

Letters

Letters to Our Friends and Family
(I saw this format on my very smart cousin's blog. Thanks for letting me postlift Em.)

Dear Tyler,
Thank you for being such a great big brother! I know you didn't see me, but I saw you with your arm around brother's shoulders as the bus drove by our house this morning. I didn't know then that Ethan had fallen and gotten hurt. It was a poignant moment for me.

Dear Ethan,
I am sorry for the bad decision that you made to take the gum today. You knew the consequences when you made that decision and I have to stick with it. There will be another city Easter Egg Hunt next year.

Dear Blender,
Thank you for making the best smooties Steve and I could ask for.

Dear Steve,
I am sorry that you are sick. I love you and hope that you get better soon. The family has been praying for you.

Dear Mom,
You are in our prayers. We know the brain tumor isn't an ideal trial, but remember to rely on the Lord and all will be well. We love you.

Dear Laney,
Could you please wake up any later than 6:20 a.m.?

Dear Easter Bunny,
I am sorry that Tyler cornered me and found out the truth. But, I told him if he didn't "believe" then you won't bring him a basket. He has done a great job for the little siblings and is looking forward to helping Mom play Easter Bunny.

Dear Tyler,
Well it had to happen sometime. I know your progress report today wasn't the stellar one you are used to and that you are sad about it. Just remember to try a little harder next week.

Dear Ethan,
Thank you for not taking any food this week (unitl today). It has been the most enjoyable week for me with you. Thanks for playing with me.

Dear left calve and right foot,
Thank you so much for cooperating today so I could go running for the first time in over 3 weeks. I was a little worried. I know you are still a little tender, but I promise to pamper you tonight.

Dear Paige,
Have a great trip. I always enjoy our phone conversations. And I miss you soooo much. Thanks for making me laugh and being such a great aunt.

Dear Wal Mart and Costco,
Thanks so much for your donations for our fundraiser for Girl's Camp. Every little bit helps. Thank you Heavenly Father for answering this prayer.

Dear Family,
Thanks for letting me be me. I love you and are glad we are an eternal family.
