Bear Lake

THE HADLOCK CLAN

Well, we're back from our Bear Lake adventure! This time we tried out the KOA Kamping Kabins. Usually Bear Lake is really cold during the nights and early mornings, but not this year. I think we figured out how to cool our cabin down by the third and last night there. (sigh) This KOA was perfect for children and had lots of evening activities for them such as "hayrides", face painting, the jumping pillow, and contests.

Full disclosure: I try (put on a fake it till you make it smile) to enjoy these camping adventures, but deep down at heart, I am just not a camper.

Mom came over the first morning and we had had a horrible night sleepwise with the children. She asked how Laney had done and we were telling her that the majority of us had been up since 4 a.m. She was joking about how she had just had the "We're all going to be happy campers," talk with her two boys (Steve's 20 something younger brothers). I jokingly told her that Steve just had to have that talk with his wife.

Anyway, the lake, "beach", and boat were awesome! We really enjoyed the relaxation (if you can call a 2 year old around water relaxing) of this mini vactaion. We couldn't get Tyler and Ethan off the boat or the banana tube. They loved it and playing with 12 of their cousins. Tyler also loved the kneeboard. He tried it on his own and was successful. The kids also loved when Steve took a turn on the kneeboard, while they were on the banana tube, and would splash them. Steve was really stratetgic about who he tried to aim for. In the end, most of them were really good sports about getting wet even though the wind was blowing resulting in immediate goose bumps.

Also, consequently, because of Ty and Ethan's time on the boat, I don't have many pictures of them from this trip. Oh well...at least they were having fun.

She Bangs!

I finally have bangs again! And I love them. I have always liked bangs, but went through a time (when the boys were 1& 2, or 2 & 3) when it was too much upkeep and time to get ready.

Now I am ready for a little more upkeep. I love these bangs. Especially because they are not the school girl bangs that I have had for years before.

Dare I ask: Steve, what do you think?

So I Think You Can't...and I Should Say Sorry

I figured that if my sister and I can have a 45 minute long conversation on this topic, I could post about it.

I have to admit that on Wednesday night, when I saw that Lil C was going to be a guest judge, I murmured. I have to admit that although I am by no means a dance judge, I do expect the panel of judges to...well, be experts. And how could a krumper know anything about proper technique for the other more seemingly trained styles. I must admit that I was wrong. Although his comments were not articulately conveyed, they still had merit. I thought his comments were right on and delivered in a straightforward, non annoying manner (do I need to mention her name?) I would welcome him back anytime.

And seriously...bringing back Comfort! Why couldn't we have brought back Thayne? I know, I know! There is that whole girl/guy ratio thing.

When I first started watching SYTYCD, I don't think I could have told you more than three styles of dance. I have enjoyed being "educated" by both the show and the judges. I even have favorites. Such as:

• my favorite choreographer: Mia Michaels
• my favorite dance: the contemporary dance between Heidi and Travis 3 seasons ago. (The one with the bench and the flower.) Or is it the pas de deux with Katie and Will? Hard to say.

• Favorite judge: Mia Michaels (am I sounding a little redundant here?)
• Favorite dancer ever: Benji
• Favorite dancer this season: Katie.

Hope you are watching because it's a fun show. It's nice to know that there are kids out there willing to work hard at making their dreams come true. Enough said.

My Fairytale

It was my fairytale come true!

We went to San Francisco on our sweet escape. And it couldn't have been more perfect!

Remember when I said it was only going to be the two of us? It was! It wasn't that I needed to fall more in love with him, or fall in love with him all over again, I'm already there. It just that it was just the two of us. We were Steve and Tiercy rediscovering the joy of being a couple. I loved it.



I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world to have the husband I do! Thank you Steve so much for surprising me. I loved holding hands with you and spending two perfect days with you! You amaze me in so many ways.




We enjoyed authentic San Franciscan activities such as Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Union Square, trolley cars, sourdough bread and admiring the Gold Gate Bridge from a distance. Along with these we enjoyed cheesecake bought from The Cheesecake Factory atop the Maceys building, Vessels (a dance club-we didn't stay long because of my shoes), the Bush Man, and shopping at Steve & Barry's (everything is $8.98).

If you are ever in San Fran, we highly recommend eating at Anjou. It is a small, French restaurant, nestled out of the way, but very romantic. The food is to die for, and you may even get a waiter with an accent.

Oh, Steve, do you remember that little corner bakery, and the Hot White Chocolate with milk? Let's have that again some day?

Mom Mom and Pop Pop Al Visit

Thanks Mom Mom and Pop Pop Al for coming to visit us! We love you and miss you already.

Mom Mom and Pop Pop Al stayed with us for 5 days, and took care of my little ones while Steve and I went to San Francisco. The kids had all kinds of fun as they went swimming, out to eat for breakfast, shopping, and playing Connect 4.

On Sunday my cousin, Liesel and her two boys, came over for a yummy dinner! We had grilled BBQ and teryiaki shrimp and chicken. The boys had so much fun playing in our newly finished backyard. Laney tried as hard as she could to keep up. She did a pretty good job.

Mom Mom and Al, we hope you had a great trip to Zions and Bryce National Parks. Send us pictures when you can.

Proud to Be an American

Happy 4th of July to everyone. We are headed over to my in-laws a little later for our annual 4th of July picnic. This is the boys favorite thing of the year and they look so forward to it! Tyler has been practing singing The Star Spangeled Banner and Ethan has been practicing his super hero moves for the talent portion of the evening!

We're thinking of our friends and family who aren't with us today. We love you and miss you!

Snowmen in the Summer?

I love how playing with girls brings out a softer side to my boys. Our neighbors, Mackenzie and Bailey were playing at our house while their mother was at the InstaCare getting their little brother stitches. I had given them marshmallows and raisins for a snack. I am not sure who started it but they decided to make snowmen. Pretty creative. I love how playing with girls brings out a softer side to my boys.

Well, at least for a little while.

You'll notice that Tyler and Bailey are still in their costumes. At one point, they were all dressed in Spiderman and Ninja costumes...possibly playing house. How does that work?

Creative play. I love it.

Cuddle Up

Here is what I found this morning on my way to get Laney from her room. Too cute! Luckily I hadn't realized that Ethan wasn't in his own bed. I have no idea when he moved into Ty's bed.
